Courses

CTO Academy provide a unique career development service. With courses and mentoring and a career development arm, we get to know each customer and help them achieve the career they want. Because we get to know our customers so well through the process, we even have a recruitment team who can help you find the role you want.

Each subscription includes a free 30 minute discovery mentoring session where you can discuss anything about the courses, your career or a specific management issue you’re having to deal with.

When joining CTO Academy you receive immediate access to our management skills courses, lectures and supporting material, with 9 courses and >100 lectures and podcasts.

Every month we release new lectures, webinars and wider course material – often based on topics crowd sourced from our global community.

We provide an introductory mentoring session as part of your courses subscription. Full mentoring sessions can be added separately at additional cost and/or upgrade to our Courses & Mentoring packages.

Upon successfully completing our end of course tests, you will receive a CTO Academy accreditation certificate

Yes. If you haven’t downloaded our eBook before joining, you will be provided with a copy, along with information about our skills assessment and introductory mentoring session.

Enterprise

Yes, we help tech teams build up their management and softer skills. We provide offline workshops and mentoring, along with our standard online services. We’re also able to help identify and mentor future tech leaders.

Yes. We have a number of mentoring clients who do not subscribe to the course material, though your mentor might recommend you watch specific lectures and courses.

Yes. The eBook is free and available via our home page.

We release new lectures and course material. Sometimes it’s based around a particular theme, often we release content as a direct result of requests from our members. A good example is we recently launched lectures looking at the discipline of selling, something we had received a lot of requests to provide. Each month you will be informed of new content being released.

Mentoring

We provide mentoring packages with at least one hourly mentoring session per month. This enables you to have direct and regular contact with an experienced CTO mentor, whether you need input on process, people or just an operational sense check.

Subscription Questions

They cover a range of the different management skills required at CTO and/or tech leaders role: Leadership, tech management, personal development, finance, funding, HR, operations, tech management, commercial topics. We also look at the separate challenges faced by tech leaders in early stage and fast growth companies.

All new subscribers receive the option of a FREE discovery mentoring session with one of our experienced CTO mentors. The topic of discussion is entirely down to you but we generally aim to understand more about your current role, your long term ambition and how CTO Academy can help. We also work with you on setting a learning path and measurable targets.

We’re constantly adding new lectures, podcasts and interviews to the platform. Often the topics are specifically requested by a subscriber or based around an ongoing theme.

As an annual subscriber you will be allocated a dedicated mentor and be able to make direct email contact with that mentor if/as questions arise from the course material or indeed, any managerial or career issue during the year.

With each individual course we provide you with a test that helps to reinforce the learning and, upon successful completion of the test, CTO Academy certification to confirm your achievement.

During your initial free mentoring session we work with you to identify key strengths and map out how you can get the most value from our course material. In the event you decide to book follow up mentoring sessions, your mentor will continue to work around those learning targets.

Our mentors help with a range of management and personal development challenges, including issues around career progression (or lack of). We will work with you to understand where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow.

We want our course material to help you achieve measurable gains in your managerial and soft skills set. We therefore provide you a skills assessment on day one and each quarter thereafter during the 12 month subscription.
