Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
The goal of mindfulness is to wake up to the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes.
There is growing research that suggests when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain and frankly … if being a leader and manager wasn’t stressful enough, the last 2 years have only enhanced the need to find some personal space and peace around our busy lives.
I’m a late adopter but now a keen advocate.
I try to ring-fence time each day for meditation.
